Dion and the Liberals have flip-flopped again.
First they support a federal anti-scab bill. Then they are against.
What policies do the Liberals support? I dunno, they keep changing their mind.
The only real public policy they have is the income trust, which creates a tax loophole for corporations because the Liberals are too chicken to say that they want to lower corporate tax rates.
Well, until they flip-flop on that.

They've taken a page from the Ontario NDP. First they supported public auto insurance, then they were against it. First they supported a common-pause day, then they abandonded that idea. First they opposed casino gamnbling, but then they changed their mind on that too. First they respected workers and collective bargaining, then they passed the social contract. The party was once socialist, now they're not. I guess everyone flip-flops

I guess you ain't much of a Blogging Dipper, huh? Lots of attacking the party and not many solutions.
But anyways, let's have a look at today's NDP. Jack Layton is a leader. We all know where he stands. He stands for Canadians, getting results. He has done a good job preserving our ideology while remaining pragmatic (do not mix up "pragmatism" with what the Liberals call "pragmatism", which is actually "opportunism").
The Liberals, on the other hand, well, we don't know where they stand...
I'm not a Dipper to begin with, so I guess you're right when you say that I'm not much of a dipper. Good observation.
I have proposed one clear solution to the party's current state, and that is a move toward the left to distinguish itself from the Liberals and Greens, and to that end you've simply suggested that I join the reds.
One some level, isn't 'preserving ideology' and being 'pragmatic' contradictory to one another? Yes, I think so.
I suggest that you end your party fetish and begin to think critically about the party that you seem to love so much. I think the NDP seriously needs to analyze its future path and determine exactly what it does and doesn't stand for. Your frequent suggestions of 'go join the CPCML' do little to stimulate said debate.
Ohhh! The traditional "party zombie" attack"
Well, you seem to obviously be the type of person that likes to follow ideology exactly as opposed to using it as a general guide, making adjustments to obstacles along the way. Or maybe not. I just wanted to get an "ideology zombie" attack in there.
But really, I don't have to go prove to you my opposition to the party when it screws up; because I have done it a lot on this blog. Sometimes to my determent.
But what I cannot say is having a so called "Blogging Dipper" simply say that the NDP totally sucks and simply say to go the "left", whatever that means. I have said why I think our present course is meeting with success numerous times. Sure there needs to be some changes to the specifics according to the political environment at the time, but the general direction is solid.
So maybe if you stop being totally out of line with this "NDP sucks" thing, especially on the Blogging Dippers, I'll stop reacting rudely regarding my suggestion to go join one of the communist parties.
